Great Morning Experience

This morning, I had the pleasure of attending the Baltimore County Business Association's Casual Connections Breakfast at "Alice’s Family Restaurant" in Middle River, Maryland. The experience was nothing short of delightful—fresh, delicious food paired with engaging and productive business discussions. It was a fantastic way to kick off the day.

Kathy Thiess McCourry, President of the Baltimore County Business Association

During the breakfast, I came across some truly fascinating opportunities and individuals that I’d love to share with you. One such connection was with Kathy Thiess McCourry, President of the Baltimore County Business Association. The Association is a vital resource and advocate for the business community throughout Baltimore County and beyond. The Baltimore County Business Association was proud to make a generous donation to the Medstar Franklin Square NICU Lactation Room in their name. They have a clear mission to promote business growth and actively support business owners. Strengthen trust and confidence within the business community. Build strong relationships between local business owners. Enhance the business environment, increase special promotions legislation. Maintain key strategies for economic growth.

The Baltimore County Business Association hosts 1–2 networking events each month, including breakfasts, luncheons, or happy hours, which are attended by 25–35 business owners. The membership comes with incredible perks like free advertising, notary services, ribbon-cuttings for new businesses, and even a few free networking events each year. Their efforts create opportunities to build trust and lasting relationships while supporting business growth. Their motto says it all: “Baltimore County Business Association—Where Every Business Counts.”

Oustanding Meeting Members

Conor Johnston, Development Officer at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center

Another highlight was connecting with Conor Johnston, Development Officer at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. MedStar Health, a not-for-profit health system, is making incredible strides in healthcare through its philanthropy program. The program supports initiatives like advancements in neurology, improved patient care, and expanded healthcare access. Their developmental team collaborates with governments and private foundations to fund programs that address health equity and community wellness. With a network of 30,000 associates, 6,000 physicians, and 10 hospitals, MedStar is a leader in patient care, education, and research. Meeting Conor Johnston and learning about their work reminded me of the impact philanthropy can have on our community.
